Balance.  I have learned the importance of that word.  In life, one has to balance all the time.  Whether its the number of sports teams you play on, or your personal life with school, family, and friends.  As I move into the next phase of my life, I will take everything I've learned about balance to help me be successful as a college student.  You have to be able to prioritize, make decisions, and budget your time in order to have balance in your life.  As I reflect on how my parents handled all my activities throughout the years, I can only hope I can take their example and use it to help me in the next chapter of my life.

I have played competitive sports since I was 8 years old.  I began playing travel soccer, then softball, and also basketball.  I learned the importance of teamwork during this time as well as gaining a core friend group where we continue to support one another today.  My love for volleyball began in 7th grade where I played for my school then joined a club team shortly after.  I focused on volleyball my 10th grade year.  I feel by playing all those sports helped me understand how to be competitive and the importance of commitment to a team.

I chose to leave the other sports and focus on volleyball because it came naturally to me.  It was a new and exciting experience.  I play libero/ds on the court and a defender in beach volleyball.  I am coachable and I always give 100%.  I've always had good feedback from my coaches and I love to compete. I am an above average student with a 3.3 GPA with a well-balanced schedule.  I am looking to go into the criminal justice field or perhaps education.

I feel like I can be described as a good friend with a great sense of humor.  I'm easy-going and have always been able to fit in with different friend groups.  I love live music and attend many concerts.  I've always appreciated spending time with my teams and enjoyed that special bond we create.
