Hello all!

What a fun weekend! Just a reminder, if you are receiving this email, these events are intended for your player to join if they would like. Even if they start practice in June.

Here’s what going on this week for our Scorpions!

Weekend Beginner’s Tournament!
These tournaments are intended for players that are in their first year of doubles competition.

I would like to see how many teams we have sign up in all the divisions. We may be able to consolidate all the divisions on Saturday. The early you let us know your player can play, the better we can schedule.

Important upcoming date:

  • June 3 and 4th – Home Tournament
  • June 6th – Chase Frishman Clinic 6:30 – 7:30 and after the clinic>

FAQs about SandYard Junior Tournaments

  • Where are the home tournaments?
    Home Tournaments are always at Fanny Chapman in Doylestown.

     
  • How much do home tournaments cost?

$40  for non-club teams. Club players do not pay extra.
 

  • What are beginner tournaments?
    Beginner tournaments are for teams that have not competed in beach or doubles tournaments before or are in their first year competing in doubles.

     
  • What are regional tournaments?
    Regional tournaments are tournaments not hosted by SandYard and are in our general area. (Within two hours ish)

     
  • Which players can go to regional tournaments?
    All club players can come with us to regional tournaments! You will just need to let us know and there is a $15 coach and camp fee for the day.
    You must also register and pay the tournament fees yourself. (Travel and Advanced Team packages include coaching fees)

     
  • What are travel tournaments?
    Travel tournaments are tournaments not hosted by SandYard that require an overnight stay. (3 + hours away)

     
  • Which players can come to travel tournaments?
    All club players can come with us to travel tournaments! You will just need to let us know and there is a $100 coach and camp fee. (Usually they are two day tournaments, fee helps cover coach’s hotel)
    You must also register and pay the tournament fees yourself. (Travel and Advanced Team packages include coaching fees)

     
  • What are AVP Pro Clinics?
    We try to book an AVP Pro Player to come out to SandYard to do training sessions with our players.

     
  • Which players can attend the AVP Pro Clinics?
    All club players may attend clinics. You will need to pay the clinic fee that is determined by the clinician. (Travel Team packages include clinic fees) (SandYard does not make any profits off the clinics. All the fee goes to the clinician)

     
  • What if I cannot drive my player to the tournament?
    We are a volleyball village, just let us know and your player can carpool with coaches or other players.

 

  • What if a parent cannot go to a travel tournament but the player can?
    Well, every family is different but players 14 and up, may attend a travel tournament traveling with a coach or another player. Parents must be comfortable with the player staying in a hotel room by themselves or another player. Coaches will be on hand to make sure they eat, get to the tournament and check in on them often.
