One of the most meaningful ways we give back to our alumni is by welcoming them home from college and offering them the opportunity to step into leadership roles as Assistant Coaches and leaders within our Alumni Development Program.

From Player to Leader

Many of our former athletes return during college breaks or after graduation looking for a way to stay connected to the sport that shaped them. SandYard provides that pathway.

As Assistant Coaches, alumni:

• Train alongside our coaching staff

• Lead drills and small group sessions

• Mentor younger athletes

• Share real college recruiting insights

• Serve as positive, relatable role models

This hands-on experience helps them develop leadership skills, communication confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game from a coaching perspective.

Summer Leadership & 23U Travel Opportunities

Our alumni program is designed to provide meaningful opportunities both on and off the sand — allowing former players to continue competing while growing as leaders.

Alumni may have the opportunity to:

• Help lead and run SandYard summer camps

• Work with large groups of athletes in skill development and tournament-style play

• Gain experience managing sessions, building culture, and mentoring players

• Earn income while giving back to the program

In addition, select alumni may train and compete with the SandYard 23U Travel Team, representing our program at tournaments around the country. This unique opportunity allows them to:

• Continue competing at a high level

• Travel and represent SandYard nationally

• Stay connected to elite-level beach volleyball

• Build leadership and team experience beyond college

By combining leadership and competition, our alumni stay engaged in the sport while developing professional skills that extend far beyond volleyball.
